Douglas leads LevereX, which designs, builds and supports AI and automation for builders, trade contractors and the manufacturers who supply them. He begins each engagement by looking at the manual work that happens between a business’s systems, such as quotes assembled from a drawing set and several spreadsheets, site information retyped into two or three places, and monthly reports rebuilt by hand. He works through each workflow with the people who run it, then builds the automation with them, keeping a person responsible for every step that involves money, contracts or a customer commitment.

Douglas began his career in the Australian Army, where he served with distinction in logistics and warehousing, including a deployment to Afghanistan on Operation SLIPPER. Army logistics relies on accurate records at every handover, and Douglas applies the same standard to the workflows he builds for LevereX clients.

He then spent more than seven years in the glass and aluminium industry, working across several areas of manufacturing. In that industry, he built a reputation for stepping into difficult commercial situations, identifying the systemic and operational problems behind them, and putting practical fixes in place. That background gives him a working understanding of estimating, production, and supply from the manufacturer’s side as well as the builder’s, which matters because many of the manual handovers LevereX automates take place between the two.

Outside work, Douglas spends time with his young family, goes fishing whenever he can, and writes software, an interest he pursued long before it became part of his job.
