Product Update: Buildxact Announces New AI-Powered Estimating Features
Software provider Buildxact has launched an updated version of its platform, introducing a new suite of AI-powered features designed to assist small to medium-sized residential builders, renovators, and contractors with estimating and project management tasks.
The update includes four new tools delivered through Blu, Buildxact’s AI assistant. According to the company, the aim is to help users improve estimating speed and consistency, streamline workflows, and respond more efficiently to cost and labour pressures across the construction industry.
Key AI Features Now Available
- Blu: Takeoff Assistant enables users to upload plans, auto-scale drawings, and measure square footage with automated perimeter tracing. It also offers editing functionality for individual measurement areas.
- Blu: Estimate Generator uses local supplier pricing to generate itemised estimates. Currently focused on kitchen and bathroom renovations, Buildxact has indicated that support for full builds and other renovation types will follow.
- Blu: Estimate Reviewer provides a checklist of recommended improvements, highlights missing items, and offers feedback based on job-specific inputs like room type, energy ratings, and environmental factors.
- Blu: Recipe/Assembly Assistant helps standardise estimates by grouping materials and labour into repeatable job templates.
In addition to the AI features, the latest platform release also includes digital signatures for online quote approvals, a timesheet feature within the Buildxact Onsite app, and expanded client selections to improve decision-making and communication with homeowners.

Pricing Structure and Access
The company has also introduced a revised pricing structure designed to support growing businesses. Each plan includes unlimited users, and Buildxact has confirmed that all tiers come with training and support.
Buildxact was founded in Australia in 2011 and has since expanded to North America, the UK, and New Zealand. The company continues to focus on building tools tailored for the small-to-medium builder segment.
