Job Skills and Qualifications:
  • An Accounting degree
  • CPA – with pass mark higher than 82%
  • At least 2+ years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Basic skills with XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks or equivalent is highly regarded
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Big 4 experience (KPMG, SGV/EY, PWC & Deloitte) highly regarded
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • You will be trained to become a highly skilled Tax Accountant for Australian clients, including how to prepare financial statements and tax returns for various types of entities, like companies and trusts.
  • Additionally, you will receive training in using a variety of software commonly used in Australia, including online accounting software (primarily Xero & MYOB), Artificial Intelligence software like Hubdoc, and many other cloud-based high-end software applications.
  • Your role will also involve collaborating with senior accountants and team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.

  • At least 2 + years’ Australian experience in Bookkeeping or accounting, including taxation
  • CPA with pass mark of 82% or higher
  • Ability to prepare a fully reconciled balance sheet
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with management reporting software.
  • Experience with XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks or equivalent;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Diligent and proactive personality
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines and submission of returns for clients by the deadline;
  • Support the Team Leader in the performance of their duties;
  • Reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts with main general ledger account where applicable;
  • Able to competently prepare a full balance sheet reconciliation;
  • Promptly informs the Team Leader of any issues with accounts;
  • Upholds and promotes the firm’s values and maintains the highest ethical and professional standards

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for monthly closing process, variance analysis and reporting of KPIs, including liaising with the accounting team to facilitate the monthly closing and compliance processes;
  • Analyses of business and financial results in order to identify key drivers of variances, opportunities and risks;
  • Reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts with main general ledger account where applicable
  • Competently prepares full balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Supports the TL in the performance of their duties;
  • Upholds and promotes the firm’s values and maintains the highest ethical and professional standard

The role’s minimum skills include:
  • At least 4 + years experience in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Tax;
  • Experience supervising concurrent account production for several clients;
  • Intermediate Skills with XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks, or equivalent;
  • Prior supervision of 2 or more staff including the ability to delegate and review work;
  • Intermediate Word and Excel skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • XERO Advisor Certification;
  • XERO Payroll Certification;
Desired Skills or Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree;
  • Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word Certification;
  • Familiarity with the Australian Taxation Office portal;
  • Well-honed bookkeeping skills with above-average communication skills
  • CPA well regarded but not essential
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • The TL should be able to perform all tasks in the skills matrix as updated from time to time
  • Lead and drive project deadlines and timing with the accounting team.
  • Collaborates with the team to ensure all deadlines are being met and that work is being managed and delivered to the highest possible standard.
  • The TL is to out the monthly/quarterly deliverables of the team
  • If the TL has other subordinate Accountants, then the TL’s role is to supervise the preparation of work for clients not to do that work in the first instance and also to teach Accountants how to do the work. In instances where the team is building, some hands-on work will be required.
  • Where the Accountant responsible for the client does not have the skills yet to do the work, then the TL shall do the work and show the Accountant how to do the work
  • Manages the allocation of staffing resources across Accountants under you depending on their skill level;
  • Supervises, instructs, and reviews the accuracy and completeness of all work performed by the Accountants;
  • Ensure transactions for all clients are recorded on time and accurately;
  • Ensure that transactions for all clients have fully reconciled and appropriate supporting work papers as evidence;
  • To provide complete work ready for sign-off by the ACD/CD as applicable
  • Coach, train, and mentor Accounting staff;
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines and submission of returns for clients by the deadline (as applicable);
  • Supervises the negotiation or where necessary does the negotiation with the Australian Taxation Office on behalf of clients for
  • Payment plans or remission of GIC and Penalties and ensures compliance by agreed deadlines;
  • Reviews VOBs and reworks as necessary for all clients on a periodic basis as required;
  • Promptly informs the CD/ACD as necessary of  any issues with clients’ accounts (including failure of a client to respond to requests for information or approval of statutory returns);
  • Maintains and builds a supportive and effective team culture;
  • Counsels and monitors the performance of all direct reports including assisting with performance reviews and keeping CD and ACD informed of any issues with staff;
  • Delegates and supervises all allocated Onboarding tasks for new clients.
  • Upholds and promotes the firm’s values;
  • Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards;
  • Trains and inducts new bookkeeping staff as required
