We’re excited to welcome Matt Richards to the Xact Accounting team as our newest Client Director.
Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Xact. He began his career in small firms on the Sunshine Coast, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom). Since then, Matt has built a successful career spanning more than 30 years across accounting and business ownership.
Over the past 20+ years, Matt has been a partner and owner in accounting firms, as well as other businesses. He has particularly enjoyed working closely with clients over the long term – supporting them through different stages of the business cycle and helping them navigate challenges and opportunities along the way.
In addition to his work in accounting, Matt founded a successful Software Consulting business, which was later sold to management, and has also been a shareholder in an Engineering business. This hands-on commercial experience gives him a unique perspective, particularly across the manufacturing and building industries.
Matt is passionate about helping business owners overcome challenges and achieve the goals they set for themselves, bringing both technical expertise and real-world commercial insight to every client relationship.
We’re also pleased to announce that Xact Accounting is expanding to the Sunshine Coast, with Matt leading our presence in the region. As our local representative, Matt will be working closely with Sunshine Coast clients, providing trusted advice and strengthening our connection with the local business community.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys swimming, hitting the gym and trying to keep fit, watching AFL and American Football, and is a long-time active and Life Member of Metropolitan Caloundra SLSC at Kings Beach. He also sits on the Board of the Surf Club’s Supporters Club and helps out with coaching.
